Three Ways to Remember and Harness your Dreams

Do you ever wish you could remember your dreams more vividly, more regularly, or even control what you dream?

I’ve read volumes about it, and find dream states such a fascinating realm. So just for you, I’ve collected three proven resources that you can begin using tonight to better remember and harness your dreams!

How to Remember Your Dreams
  1. Diffuse rosemary oil

For reasons unbeknownst to me (as yet!) the scent of rosemary evokes powerful dreams and assists in remembering them when you first wake up. I have my dancer friend, Sahita in Haiti, to thank for this powerful tip. As soon as I began diffusing rosemary oil in a simple diffuser near my sleeping head, I found my waking self so much ore connected to what had just transpired.

So grab your dream journals, rosemary oils and get ready to write those morning flashes of cosmic adventures on the pages to come!

  2. Place a glass of water near your bed

Having a large glass of water in a lovely goblet ensures far more than just good hydration upon waking. Several mystical traditions, religions and practices ranging from Haitian vodou to the new age all vouch for the power of water to carry, hold, and share dreams. No elaborate vessel or sacred objects are required to tap into the effects of water near your sleeping head. Drinking it when you awake is definitely encouraged.

  3. Set a dream intention before bed

Do you dream intentionally? I was blown away when I first learned about mystics and shaman who go on dream journeys which they can guide effortlessly. My amazement reached new heights when I heard about couples who invited one another into their respective dreams and experienced cosmic journeys together every night. That sounds like such a goal, non?!

To begin down this pathway of not only remembering but using your dream time, all you have to do is begin setting an intention for your dreams before bed. Maybe you ask your dream-self a question. Perhaps there’s a tidbit of wisdom for your work, or an emotional challenge you’re facing and would like guidance to resolve. Maybe you just want to have sexy, hot dream meet-ups with your ideal partner! Whatever your wish, tonight you can begin playing with the power of rosemary, water, and intention setting to transform the way you relate to your dreamscape.

Having a dedicated dream-journal on your bedside table is a great resource to get the most out of these methods. And I find that recording my dreams - writing them and sketching them by hand- before looking at my phone is key.

Bon voyage!
