This is one of those adventures that will haunt me for its inimitable, fleeting beauty.
Our two week getaway in southern Portugal strung together a series of moments that make you glad to be alive. We only planned our first night's stay. The rest brought just the right blend of raw, natural beauty and textured souls conspiring towards something you can only call exuberant joy.
Consider my creative inspiration all filled up and ready to be unleashed this spring! I hope you enjoy a few photos to catch the spirit, taken by myself and writer friend Cyandra Carvalho.
I feel you, Jean Houston, and I think we reached some pretty sublime, Portuguese heights. Thanks to the two weeks spent with kindred-souls in almost imaginary beauty, my artist's soul is replenished. So here's a question for you:
I think it count if it's a day trip alone, or a week away or even a few hours, but I'm truly realising the value of getaways. Now that I'm 30, it's more clear than ever that creative time-outs are the to having something interesting to offer when you're tuned in, and 'ON' in the daily grind.
It's not surprising but, surprisingly hard to practice, right?
Now, back at home in Haiti..
If inspiration is a well then mine is now brimming over with lively swimming fish, big and small, ready to be caught and shared. The minerals, conversations, textures, colours and excitement of exploring new places worked its magic.
Wishing the same magic for you this spring as it turns into the heady heat of summer.
